Cleaning and disinfection of the greenhouse
When emptying the greenhouse there is one rule of thumb in terms of hygiene: prevent any diseases and pathogens that may be present from being spread throughout the entire company. The crop can cause any diseases and pests to be carried from their location and it is important that this does not lead to reinfection elsewhere in the company or outside.
Once the crop and coarse residues have been removed, the cleaning can begin. The cleaning of the greenhouse stands and greenhouse equipment takes place in several cleaning rounds. To remove the last traces of chalk or coating on the outside of the glass, consider the product Removit. For general cleaning, brush the glass with water and apply a glass cleaner if necessary.
To prevent the spread of pathogens or blockages in the new crop, the irrigation system should be cleaned after the cultivation (preferably also during the cultivation). In addition, the plugs of the dripper can be treated separately. In case of virus problems, it is recommended to remove the old plugs and install new ones. For cleaning the organic pollution, the stabilized peroxide Huwa-San is applied in the system. Besides the irrigation system itself, silos and basins also need to be cleaned and disinfected. This may also contain undesirable pathogens which could have a negative impact on the new crop. The outside of the irrigation tubes should be disinfected (with or without foam) with the broadspectrum disinfectant Menno Florades.
Menno Florades is also the best choice for disinfectioin against a wide range of specific plant pathogens. The agent is extremely stable and not aggressive to materials. This prevents the growing gutters from rusting, which makes cleaning and disinfecting easier in the future. Thanks to the long stability and application time, the tests for GBM approval also showed that resting spores of fungi were effectively killed.
After the cleaning and disinfecting the greenhouse, hygiene of visitors and employees deserves extra attention. Make sure that everyone and everything enters the greenhouse clean, consider disinfection mats or hygiene stations. Are you interested in the total hygiene solution for your company?
